01 Project Brief
A fresh, new look for a dynamic, interactive workshop that strives to empower improvement engineers and leaders with essential skills for success by offering a gateway to mastering Continuous Improvement (CI) methodologies.
“For CIKS, I want it to feel more action-oriented...’I’m taking these workshops to learn and practice new skills so I can solve tough problems, make my process better, and build skills that I’m going to need throughout my career.’”
02 Ideation
The initial idea to answer this “action-oriented” wish was to implement a strength-training element into the branding. Through iteration, this evolved into the idea of endurance running. Steadily practicing and pushing oneself to become better and better. Finding new ways to test oneself and implementing new methodologies to gain the proper endurance to tackle tough problems.
03 Visual Identity
A simple, clean mark that evokes an upbeat and determined individual who is jumping into action. Paired with a striking blue palette that is in conversation with the original Continuous Improvement (CI) branding as well as Dow’s signature font choice. Curved, soft friendly lines were used to make the program feel inviting and elevated.
04 Applications
Workshop Presentations
The CI Kickstart program is delivered through virtual and in-person workshops and utilizes PowerPoint presentations to help teach the content. Creating slides that looked beautiful on a large projector screen and on a small laptop presented a unique challenge with this particular part of the project. While the pastel colors of the background showed up great on computer screens, they were washed out when projected. To combat this issue, I turned up the saturation so the workshop looks uniform whether you are in-person to virtual.

SharePoint Webpage
As the finishing touch, the webpage is the hub for all information regarding the CI Kickstart program and how to join it. The same fun visuals were brought into the design to tie everything created for this project together into one cohesive package.

Workshop Resources
Easily accessible resources were needed to round out the CI Kickstart workshop. Content included a guide for CI Coaches on key responsibilities of the role as well as several exercises participants can utilize outside of the workshop.
